John Stanage had tried to teach me some songs in December of 1992. He wanted to get a band together, and I told him like I told Rick Sandoval, if he got the rest of the members to commit, I would do it. The project didn't come together until the next fall with Michelle on vocals and Nick on drums from Obscurity. At first, I was a little skeptical, but then things started to come together and we were practicing on a regular, once-a-week basis. We rehersed in John's basement out in the Richmond district, which worked out okay since it was a few blocks from Nick's house and Michelle and I could get there easily on the bus. One day, we chose the name by the three of us narrowing it down to three names, and then we let Nick choose (because he wasn't there that day) via conference call. Sometime in 1994, Nick's mom was hit by a company truck and broke her hip. After reaching a settlement which brought the family some money, his family deceided to move to Wisconsin. I had only stuck around because he was such a great drummer and I liked working with him, and although we found another drummer, I didn't want to continue without Nick. About a month before he left, he shipped his drumset out to his new home, John and Michelle pulled their money together and got him a drumset so we could continue to play until he left. I really enjoyed my time playing with this band.
