1998. Recording CD number 1, DCP Studios, San Francisco Prior to us playing any live shows, and only four weeks of being together as a band, we went into the studio to begin work on what would become our first CD, Come And Get Us. During the first sessions, we recorded ten tracks, two of the tracks would be used on our "demo tape" - albeit a teaser until the CD was finished. One song, Debutante, was only released on the tape and was never performed live. The two songs from the original sessions, Words To Live By, and Hands Held would make it on the CD, but only Hands Held made it from this session. The second sessions produced a few more tracks including the version of Words that would make the final cut on both the demo tape, and the CD. We had a total of four recording sessions in 1998. January, Feb 28/March 1st, June 27th, and a couple of dates in November. Most of the CD was cut from the June 27th session. That date was supposed to be a whole weekend, but Eddie Caipo (the engineer) had locked the keys inside - providing us with a day at the studio, waiting around, drinking, and rehersing. We did finally get into the studio that evening to set up and get sound levels. During the 26th, while playing around, we recorded (on tape cassette) what would be part of the secret track on the album, Horchata. The November sessions netted a couple more tracks, and Mike Ortiz added a spiffy little number, Katie Was A Daisy, which we added sound fx to. The mixing sessions began in early December, and thanks to a friendly loan, we were able to finish the CD and get it off to the duplicators. We received alot of praise for the record from fans, friends, family, and others in the industry. I worked with Victor Arre on the album jacket and graphics, using photos from what few live gigs we had played at that point, as well as a mixture of images of some of my paintings, baby photos, Dave's dog Morgan (for the CD itself), and a crossword puzzle insert - which I had fun creating. We had a contest, but only two people sent them in completed to receive their prizes. Maybe I made the puzzle too hard, as you had to listen to the lyrics of the songs (which were not included in the CD insert), and figure out the crossword.

2001. Recording CD number 2, Hitwall Studios We did record somewhere around 17 songs for what was to be our second CD, the follow up to Come And Get Us. The basic tracks for drums and bass were laid down, as well as scratch vocals and guitar. We had planned to go back and finish the recording in early 2002, but I left the band. I have spoken with the guys recently and we are hoping to finish it sometime soon.
