Artist and Musician, Josh Almond grew up in San Francisco during the 1970s. With both parents being artists, his ability was natural. Early on, he moved into music, learning guitar and electric bass and performed with several bands during the nineties and into the new millenium.

Art
Attended School of the Arts for senior year of high school. Already very skilled at drawing, he studied under a couple of painters at the school, finding his own brush stroke and created his first few paintings - and having some of it on display at the school. In college, he found he was drawn away from art by music, and only created band flyers from 1991-1999. In early 2000, the art bug bit him again, and he chose to get back into painting. Over the course of 2000-2002, he did over 100 acrylic paintings with the intention of getting his stroke back. In 2004, Josh had three showings, all at independent galleries - where his art was well received.

Music
With over twelve years experience performing live, Josh Almond has kept a solid foundation of bass and back up vocals for his groups. He has spent tons of hours in the recording studio, both home and professional. Over the years he has been compared to Les Claypool and Steve Harris, which he would admit to both being influenced by, along with the likes of Larry Graham, Paul McCartney, Sting and Geddy Lee. He has recently joined the band Gunpowder on lead guitar, showing his versatility. He has also recorded other bands, sound effect records, and soundtrack music, which may ultimately lead to a future of producing.
