My cousin giving me the tour
Cosanti was built by Paolo Soleri
He would pile up sand, making forms with a backhoe, then pour concrete - dig out the sand and voila, you'd have this building that would be dug into the ground - which is great in the desert!
My cousin giving me the tour
Here are some of the bells in production
One of the workers at Cosanti
The Worktable
Reminded me of Tattooine
Storage, or is that Watto's store?
Yeah, reminds me of Jabba's Palace
Alot of these rooms are used to make stuff, but some people live in them too
This is one of the larger structures
The place is really one big piece of art, this is someone's living quarters
Another area where bells are made
That's me!
They produce both ceramic and sand caste bronze bells - which go to help pay for things for both Cosanti and Arcosanti
This must be where the Jawas live...
Hey! Light is pouring out of my head!
This was the biggest structure at Cosanti
He was explaining how Paolo made it.
He would use a two by four of wood to get those patterns - by laying it in the wetsand - then pouring the concrete
This is one of the living quarters - it had a bridge
More of the living quarters - and a tree
More of the living quarters - and a table
